"Pacifica Warrior", relates to GGIE, an ongoing series derived from the ephemera structures of the Treasure Island fair of 1939. Pacifica was an 80 foot sculpture made of plaster by Ralph Stackpole, a commissioned piece that stood at San Francisco's last world's fair- the Golden Gate International Exposition of 1939 at Treasure Island. Pacifica was the theme statue for the exposition, representing world peace, neighborliness, and the power of a unified Pacific coast. She was demolished after the fair ended in 1940. She continues to be an iconic figure and it is hoped one day to have her re-built and back at the Island. For this new piece, "Pacifica Warrior" is painted in a more decorative style - exaggerated eye make-up, and she's adorned by a painted rectangular frame shape, complimenting the colors with the background and face, all in an illuminated dreamy night-time look.

This painting was exhibited at the San Francisco History Center in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Golden Gate International Exposition, "Illusion & The Magic City", January 26th-March 28th, 2019.
